Podcast: CGTech President, Shin Voeks, joining Sandvik and virtual replication

In Meet Sandvik podcast, Shin Voeks talks about everything from his start at GE in his career, to now leading CGTech, and providing a platform for customers to see a virtual replication of the actual CNC machine. He brings vast experience from major global companies.

Sandvik completed the acquisition of CGTech in December of 2020. CGTech is now part of the Sandvik Manufacturing Solutions' business area segment and is a global market leader in software for computer numerical control (CNC) simulation, verification, and optimization.

“There are numerous different kinds of machines out there with different parameters and different controllers. With CGTech’s platform we take all of those parameters including the different types of material, and what the customer is trying to build, and we try to show the customer in a simulated and verified way what is going to happen at the machine.” said Voeks. “Before numerical code (NC) program goes into a CNC machine, customers know the likelihood of that part, no matter what they’re trying to build, and it will come out the way they expect it to.” Further explaining that their platform solution allows customers to test out ahead of time, helping to reduce waste and save time.
